Cheryl Kohl

If you long for Cheryl Cole's smouldering eyes then a kohl liner is your new best friend. When it comes to jet-black pigment and staying power, Mac's Eye Kohl in Smolder, £12.50 (maccosmetics.co.uk), is unbeatable. For years, I've used Rimmel's Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil in Jet Black, £2.99 (Boots) as a much-beloved back-up.

  1. I LOVE Cheryl's eye make up. I have the rimmel kohl liner but it doesn't seem to look as smouldering as Cheryl's. I'm guessing it's because I have blue eyes and my eyelashes go in all different directions, but any tips? :)

  2. First of all, line the inner eye with your Rimmel Kohl. The natural moisture from your eye will help deepen the colour of the kohl when you line the upper and lower lashline. For extra staying power, apply a black eyeshadow with a small eyeshadow brush to the upper and lower lashline. Hope that helps, Sx

  5. Hi, so I tried out my attempt of smoky eyes with the rimmel kohl liner yesterday, and after your much needed tips the liner definitely seemed to look smokier then usual. I usually just line the bottom lashline so it seemed to last much longer when I did the upper lashline as well. I may stop off at a John Lewis however and buy the Mac one, seeing as you've highly recommended it. :) thanks for the tips x
