Topshop: never has a high street makeup line been so in sync with its fashion counterpart. Just like those impossible to pull off micro shorts that transform into something edgy and wearable with opaques and a rock tee, Topshop's new 'Sandstorm' makeup collection can be diluted from the oh-so-fabulous trend shots to subtle flashes of metallic shadow or a great statement nail.
As you can see from the campaign shots, the trend is all about smouldering, luminous metallics in warm, sandy shades, contrasted with pops of pastel on the nails. The collection is extensive and includes a sculpting Cheek Duo, £12, Metallic Mousse Eyeshadow, £8, Eye Crayons, £8, and interestingly a Semi-Permanent Eyeliner, £8, which has to be removed with an oil-based cleanser. Lip colours are sheeny, while the Nail Duo, £9, allows for some complimentary nail creativity in a gorgeous pink and gold combo!
Overall, I'm a fan of the look. I love the haphazardness of the eye makeup application - it's got a bit of a Native American vibe about it. And just like those micro shorts, I cannot wait to try this look! Sx
