A couple of months ago, I went to the launch of the Me My Elos Hair Removal System, £449.99 (Boots), and after 4 treatments, it's time to tell you all how I got on. The answer in short is really well. Read the original write-up here...http://besttressed.blogspot.com/2011/03/me-my-elos-hair-removal-system.html
But first for a quick recap on the product. The system uses a combination of Intense Pulsed Light and Radio Frequency to penetrate deep into the skin and damage the hair follicle, and unlike other point-and-shoot IPL and at-home laser devices, it glides over the skin, emitting a pulse every second for quick and easy hair removal. As I mentioned in my last post, the device also comes with an epilator attachment, specially designed for fairer-haired users to create a wound for the light to target. I didn't get on with the epilator - I found it missed a lot of hairs, and because you can't go over the same skin twice with the IPL device, the area couldn't be properly targetted.
This week I completed my fourth session and I think I've reached pro status. The light, once sunglasses-bright, doesn't really bother me now, although it's always best to use it in the daylight to minimise this brightness. The gentle heat the device emits with every pulse is really quite pleasant, however I did find it a little uncomfortable around the bikini line. As for the results, well, trials conducted on the device found that it reduced 89% of body hair after 4 treatments. I can't say that my trial has been as successful but the results are most definitely noticeable. My underarms are pretty near hairless now and my legs now have areas where no hair has grown back at all. As per the device's instructions, I am now to use the device once every 4 weeks so I will keep you posted on any further results.
As a white-skinned, dark brunette I am an ideal candidate for this type of device, which is why perhaps it has worked so well. It would be interesting to test it on someone fairer who has to rely on the complementary epilator attachment. I cannot speak highly enough about the Me My Elos Hair Removal System. Yes, it's pricey but if my hair removal carries on at the rate it's going, then I'll save a fortune in waxing trips. This is without a doubt the best at-home permanent hair removal device I've tried. Can't wait to try it, sounds like it does the job and much cheaper than the in-salon treatments! Where is it available again?
ReplyDeleteIt's available at www.boots.com now Sx
ReplyDeleteHiya, I am promoting this product in Boots in Westifeld's, White City. Me My Elos is so popular and it's currently on promotion for £399.99! I sold 6 alone in a 5-hour shift yesterday! I am based next to a girl promotin Phillips Lumea and after we have both described our products to customers, they tend to agree that Me My Elos is the quickest and easiest to use. Definitley the best method o hair removal I have ever tried!
ReplyDeleteI like that thing so much.
ReplyDeleteI am planning to buy that hair removal tool but before buying I want to know more about it. This review is all that I need. Now I can say that it is a great hair removal tool that I must have.
ReplyDeleteHi - have the results with the elos continued to be good? I'm thinking of getting one and would like to know how it stands the test of time! Thanks, L
ReplyDeletewill this work on men?
ReplyDeleteI have one and I am a mixed race person. Used it on my whole body except for the face. Its wonderful. I paid more to get my face lasered professionally than paying for this machine. Got it at boots. My daughter is a bit darker than me but she also has very good results. I have a Brown epilator which I used on my legs. Used the laser right after only ONCE!!! and the legs are still hair free 6 weeks later. My arms, shaved them and hair has not grown back in 4 weeks. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI am sure it works on men too!
men are humans also so I'd say so
ReplyDeleteHi Lucy,
ReplyDeleteSorry for the delay. To be honest, I stopped using it over the summer as I had a deep tan and wanted to be on the safe side. I've just used it again so I will keep you posted.
Thanks for reading,
Sx
It's been a while since I've read reviews, this type of writing really caught my attention and impressed. Too bad I stopped using hair removal products. There's this site that I'm was so reliable that I'm very confident of recommending it to my fellow bloggers, friends, and colleagues.
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed reading this post.It broadens my horizon more about these matter. Its good to read about Waxing .
ReplyDeletei have just bought one of theses today, hope it works as I am the best candidate with fair skin and medium brunnete hair!
ReplyDeleteCan you use this whilst you have a tan or are using self/fake tan?
ReplyDeleteI am thinking about getting one for myself and wanted to know how your results are coming along? Also, do you do the whole bikini area?
ReplyDeleteThanks to give me these type of information
ReplyDeleteI got one also- and have completed 4 weeks of treatments. I'm medium to fair skinned and have a combination of dark and light hair- i.e. leg hair darker than blonde-ish arm hair. My underarm hair is really dark though, and it seems to be more stubborn than my slightly lighter leg hair! How strange. I haven't used the epilator as I have always been a shaver (religiously often), however I purchased the attachment today to try to hurry up the underarm and bikini process.
ReplyDeleteSince I have been using it, I have noticed a huge difference in the amount of hair that grows and how long it takes to grow back. I used to shave almost every single day- now I can go 3-4 without shaving my legs and 2-3 for underarms/bikini.
I love this thing- my only concern is that I think my hair cycle is much faster than most people's. The hair on my head grows so fast (several cm or more a month) as does the rest of my body. I'm not sure if I should be using it sooner than 2 week intervals in order to zap the hair that is growing at that time? To be safe, I am sticking to the recommended guidelines.
Hello
ReplyDeleteI would like to know if ther is anyone with mid to darish brown skin and black hair and tried this. mail me at r_aw@hotmail.co.uk
Hello,
ReplyDeleteSomebody who tried Me my Elos can answer about how good are the results until now. I want to buy one but until now the information is few and considering the amount of money for this machine.... I would like to know more.
Hi there
ReplyDeleteThis is the best hair removal system EVER! I have waged a lifelong battle against my coarse, dark hair and tried everything - waxing, epilating, sugaring, shaving etc...to no avail. I have been using this for 6 weeks and in some areas I am hair free and in others, the hair grows back at a much slower rate. But most importantly, the hair that does grow back is much finer - I no longer have that stubble feeling anywhere! The best money i've ever spent. Incidentally, I have been using it once a week rather than once every 2 weeks - but I do have very coarse, fast-growing hair so figured it was necessary to do it more often than recommended. I haven't experienced any negative side effects from this - but this is only my personal experience!
What would you say makes it better for you than the Tria or Lumea?
