A lot of the time with gift sets, brands seem to plonk a load of mismatched products together in a pretty box in the hope that the cutesy packaging and most often, discounted price, will lure you into whipping out your credit card. But finally, I've found a gift set - the Nars Tainted Love Gift Set, £44 (spacenk.co.uk) to be precise - that gets my attention. Yes the packaging is attractive and yes, with full size products, you do make a saving, but this is a gift set with as much substance as there is style. The products seem to have been carefully co-ordinated - the gold-flecked Angelika Lip Gloss flatters the Schiap Nail Polish, without being too matchy-matchy. And any set that includes the multi-tasking hero that is the Nars Multiple has got to be a winner.
