Alesha Dixon's new video...a game of two halves
I have a soft spot for Alesha Dixon. She makes catchy pop and her unusual, feline-esque beauty is often passed over (lest we forget, she was on Select Model's books). I had hoped that her beauty street cred was on the up after the 'Drummer Boy' video, where she pulled off the turbo quiff with aplomb. But her new video for 'Every Little Part of Me' has left me baffled.
The first half of the video is pretty poor in the beauty stakes. The dress-matching green eyeshadow (AND nails, eww) with pale pink glossy lips does nothing for her, and that prom hairstyle undermines any cool cred her aforementioned quiff might have earned her.
Fast-forward about 2 minutes and 40 seconds (or just check out the still of the video above) and it's a totally different story. Va-va-voom volume is a key trend for S/S11 and Alesha's brushed back 'do is bang on. And check out those heavily smoky eyes too, as seen on Chanel's summer catwalk.
Time to pick a side Alesha. (The last one, the LAST ONE!) Sx
